One, two, three and four! Nikola won for the 4th consecutive time the Bundesliga’s titel with Kiel. He revealed us how was it and talked to us about the Champions League’s semifinal and his future as well.
- First of all, tell us how are you.
"I would say that I am alright. The fact that we became German Champions on Tuesday evening allowed me to not play and to spare a bit my knee. It was a pure measure of precaution in the perspective of the big clashes which waits for us against Rhein-Neckar Löwen."
- Here you are, German Champion for the fourth time in a row. Aren’t you bored?
"No, certainly not. Some people would think that this is routine, something normal, isn’t it? Not at all! Every title is different, has its own savour. This one is special, because we have spoiled the suspense a long time ago. I would say that it is the title we won in the easiest way possible. Clearly, there is no the excitation one can feel when you win it in the last round, but has the same value. A title is a title. We are Champions and nobody can deny it."
- So, you have the necessary calm to approach the Champions League’s semifinal against Löwen...
"Yes, maybe, but Champions League is something else. Exactly like the German Cup. We would like to win different competitions."
- What’s your opinion about Rhein-Neckar Löwen?
"I think that it would be not easy for us, very much on the contrary. Beginning with the second part of the season they became stronger. They are in a very good shape now and they have absolutely nothing to lose."
- Let’s go back to you. The German press talks often about you these days. Are there any news concerning the next season?
"No, not yet. I am in completely dark. Actually, I didn´t tell the journalists things that you haven’t already know. I repeated them that it was Montpellier the club who showed the biggest interest to transfer me, that this club elaborated a good concept and that I would really like to play again for them. My brother plays there, he is pivot and one of the best defenders, my father is in charge of the goalkeepers’ s preparation. I insisted as well on the fact that I could get more money somewhere else, but Montpeller has other arguments which I would give much more importance. There is my home. But look, since two months I have expected to talk about it with the managament. I give my best, I do my job on the field. Surely that the club has other problems in this moment, because this scandal keeps everybody busy, but I would finally like to know how the things are regarding me."
