In a very equated game, Niko and his teammates were the ones who had the biggest difference in their favour, 3 goals, three times: 15:12 (21.), 16:13 (23.) und 34:31 (52.), but the host fought back into the match and in the end the teams had to share the points.
HSV, leaded by an excellent Guillaume Gille, was in front with one goal for 16 minutes. Nikola brought Kiel´s the first advantage, scoring for 13:12 in the 18th minute. The best performance of his colleagues was on the way. Mattias Andersson, who changed Thierry Omeyer in goal after 12 minutes, saved magnificient especially the shots from Bobo Gille and Hans Lindberg and in attack Jicha, Nikola and Kim Andersson scored for 16:13. Even if the players coached by Noka Serdarusic were in lead with 1 goals until the last minute of the first half, after 30 minutes everything was even and open: 19:19.
The second half was a loyal copy of the first part of the dispute. Martin Schwalb´s players were in lead with one goal, the opponent equalised again and again. After 43 minutes Stefan Lövgren gave his team the first advance of the half, 27:26, Klein succeeded a steal and scored on fastbreak for 28:26. And the victory seemed to smile again to the visitors because they extended their lead to 34:31 with 8 minutes to go, despite the wonderfull performance of the home side´s goalie, Per Sandström.
But Hamburg had another hero and that was Hans Lindberg, who scored three consecutive goals and equalised again: 34:34 (54.) Nikola, who was not only dangerous als goalscorer (8 goals), but also as assist player (6 assists) succeeded a breakthrough who brought his team a 7 meter throw, his third one of the evening. Jicha transformed it without problem and Kiel was again in advantage, 35:34. Yoon made it even, 35:35, and Nikola scored for 36:35. After that, both teams failed to score and the encounter turned out in a drama. Grimm made it even, 36:36, after a great assist of Gino Gille, with only one minute remaining. Unfortunately for Kiel, with 25 seconds to go, Kim Andersson shot was saved by Sandström, but fortunately, Ursic couldn´t really control the ball. Omeyer, who came back in goal after 39 minutes, gave a long pass to Lund, but there was no time anymore for the winning goal.
