It is half past ten this morning. Nikola is in the car, on his way to the workout. He is not at his best. Injured, he assisted helpless to the draw made by his teammates in front of an underdog of Dormagen yesterday evening.
- So Niko, you assisted to the match yesterday evening, what do you thought about it?
"It is not a lot to say about this draw. We performed too poor, we really didn´t deserve more."
- It was truly a poor performance...
"Yes, we failed, we missed completely the start of the season. We have already lost a point and we know how much costs a point in Bundesliga, this is bad for us."
- What do you felt during the match?
"I felt badly. You are there, in the stands and you see that your pals are not able to do the difference. I would have loved so much to be with them on the court, helping them to win this damned dispute. When the final whistle came, I was frustrated."
- It was announced that you are out for three-four weeks, do you confirm it?
"Yes, I do, unfortunately. In fact, my elbow injury is not so harmless as it seems. That´s why I have to take seriously care of myself. Actually, I have a fracture to a bone placed between the radius and the cubit and there is a small piece who balances and we can´t take it out. So I take care of myself..."
- But this fracture isn´t it the consequence of an impact?
"Yes, it is correct what you said. If I am forced to take a break, it is only because of the accumulation of games. It is almost an year since I have played without interruption. The German, European and world handball authorities apparently don´t realise what a rhythm they imposed us. If we continue like this, the players will fall out with injuries one by one. They must really perceive the danger that they players live with."
- What is it your schedule for the following weeks?
"I will take care of my injury and I will train, but only physically. And after it, I will take part to a TV-show, whose gain will go to an association. I am also invited at Stade de France for the match France - Serbia. On Thrusday I will be close to Nürnberg, at the Adidas domicile, where I will be awarded with the trophy for the best player in the world, this will make me change a bit the mood."
