The French Champions have very big chances to reach the last sixteen of the competition. Medvedi Tschechow, Pick Szeged, Valladolid, HCM Constanta and Saporoschje/Thessaloniki/Strovolos/ are the opponents of Niko and his colleagues in the group A.
A new season of Champions League will start for the best French club at the end of September. Until that moment it will be known which will be their fifth opponent, Saporoschje, Thessaloniki and Strovolos are the squads who will fight for it in a qualification tournament scheduled between 4th and 6th September.
The teams ranked 1 to 4 in each group will qualify for the round of the last sixteen (24th March - 4th April 2010). This phase will be followed by the quarter finals (21st April - 2nd Mai) and by the Final Four in Köln (29th - 30th May).
