Ciudad Real and THW Kiel will meet today beginning with 20 o´clock in the derby of the group 4 of the competition. Both team have the same goal: to end the main round group as first in their group.
The German Champions won the first leg 33:26, qualified in the quaterfinal, and are leaders of the group 4 with 10 points, 2 more than their opponent today. In this context, Kiel can allow themselves a defeat by 6 goals, while Ciudad has to win by minimum 7 and without getting more than 26 goals. The advantage of ending the group on the first place is given by the fact that this team will play the second leg of the quaterfinal on home soil.
"Kiel is one of the best team in the world. They have a strong roster, with a great goalkeeper as Omeyer, very good Back players as Karabatic, Kim Andersson or Jicha, fast wingers as Kavticnik, Klein or Lundström, and also Stefan Lövgren or the pivot Marcus Ahlm. No doubt, it will be very complicated to win against them", said Ciudad Real´s coach Talant Dujshebaev to the Spanish news agency EFE.
The "Kieler" have good memories from "Quijote Arena" in Ciudad Real. In the first leg of the last season Champions League´s final, the Zebras won 29:27 after Niko´s fabulous performance (9 goals).
