After 26th rounds of the German league, it is even more obvious that nobody can keep the pace during 60 minutes with Niko and his teammates. On 1st December 2007, was the last time when THW was defeated in the Bundesliga.
Fifteen months later, there were some signs that the incredible victories serie of Kiel could be broken. 4:0 after 6 minutes, the first goal scored after 6 minutes from a 7 meter shot, 5:1 and 6:2 after 7 minutes, almost everything went wrong for the guests. Almost and not all, because Titi Omeyer did his job so good that the opponnent missed, among others, four 7 meter shots in the first 18 minutes!
Anyway, in the meantime Zeitz, Lövgren and the others were back on the right track, equalising (7:7/13.) and taking the lead (11:12/24.). From that moment, they began to control the dispute, managed to build themselves a three goals advance (13:16/28.) and ended the first half in advantage: 15:17.
In the second half, THW needed five minutes to end the game. Even if Göppingen equalised twice, they couldn´t keep the pace anymore. Kiel turned a 18:19/(35.) into a 20:31/48. due to easy goals per fastbreak. The ten goals difference margin was also touched: (24:34/53., 27:35/56.), but as a consequence of the fact that the Kieler relaxed in the last 2-3 minutes, it ended "just" 30:38 in their favour.
