Thau is the place where my career has really begun, where my passion for handball was developing. It was there I created the desire to become one of the best players in the world one day.
I stayed in Thau until 2000, with my father as a coach, of course before I went to Montpellier Handball Academy.

2001-2002: my first season into the professional Team

My technique together with my physique qualities helped me to be accepted very fast in a professional team. Patrice Canayer has asked me to work a lot to inorder to be able to show my potential on the field and in the middle of the stars from Montpellier.
It was here I knew what toplevel in handball meant. First in the French League (D1) and the European Competition, then in the Champions League. Day after day my way to play became stronger and stronger and I’d became a regular player in 2002.

2002, a very beautiful year for me because I was called for the first time into the National Team (France A). The World Cup in Sweden was the ocassion. At the beginning, the opportunity to make a dream come true and being part of the great team of France impressed me, but I adapted fast to the situation. All the players really helped me witn this.

2003...the most beautiful year with Montpellier

It’s the year of the consacration because we won Champions League. We suceeded to realize the triple because we had also won the French championship and the French Cup. It has remained an unforgetable year and one of most beautiful memory for me until today. The year 2003 will end with the bronze medal with the National Team at WCh 2003 in Portugal, my first medal with the National Team.

2004: my worst sport memory until today: The Olympic Games in Athens!

Taking part in the Olympic Games was a childhood dream, but all changed fast into a nightmare, because even if France had one of the most beautiful teams ever, we ended up only in 5th place.

2005: At this time I was ready to play for the best teams of the world and even the French championship had a very good level, I have admired and followed the championships from Germany and Spain.

In 2005, I was contacted by the officials from the German club Kiel, one of the greatest clubs in Europe, with an excellent international reputation. I immediately liked the challenge they proposed me, the contact with the coach Zvonimir Serdarusic and the structures of this club. The offcials from Kiel wanted to create a team based on young players who should become mature players in meantime and in the same time to won titles! After I talked a lot to my family about it, I had accepted to play for Kiel. The beginning of a new adventure and the discovery of one of the strongest championship in the world has started.

2005: a new era, a new dimension

In 2005 I finished my adventure in Montpellier with a triple win (championship, cup and league cup) before I went to Kiel...

So, the direction was North Germany: Kiel. Even if the sea is close, the weather is not as warm as in Montpellier, we only can talk about maximum 10 degrees! Concerning the club and the city culture, I adapted myself fast. At the beginning, I was a little bit intimidated, especially at the first training when I was so close to my idol: the Swedish Stefan Lövgren. A handball legend, one of the best players in the world for the last 10 years! But my persistence and the physical perseverence helped me to forget this: playing in one of the championships based on physical qualities asks for a enormous physically preparation! And it helped a lot!

This first season in Kiel was perfect. We became Germany’s Champions and I was elected the best Left back of the season and the second best player of the championship. Not at all bad for a beginning!

Concerning the National Team, we became European Champions 2006 in Switzerland. My first really big title won with „Les bleus“! A really unforgetable year (of course, the most beautiful), because I had won my first important title with France and Kiel. I have finally proved I was not only a „talent“ in handball anymore, but a really very good player indeed.

In 2007, The adventure continues...

The season I am living with Kiel takes the same dirrection. We are first in the championship, we have won Germany’s Cup and the Champions League, against Flensburg. The year of another triple in another championship??? It will be great, but we still have a way to do until there...
