- Ragnar, were you often prepared by Alfred Gislason ?
"I would not say often, but I worked with him during several training camps and for the last Euro in Norway. More than this, when I was playing in Iceland, we met as rivals, with him being on the other bench."
- What do you they think about him in Iceland?
"He is a celebrity, he won everything there. He has even succeeded to won a domestic league with a team who won nothing until then (KA Akureyri in 1997). And before he became a coach, he was an half God as player. That´s why, he is a God in Iceland: half God as a player + half God as a coach = a handball God."
- How does he behave with the players?
"He is very severe and serious as long as he coaches the team on the court, but out of the field he is someone very cool. It is a very intellectual person, who is interested in lots of domains. For example, with me he talked about music. "
- Is he a great coach?
"He is an workaholic. He is very pointed. The players from Kiel, no doubt, will have to pass a lot of tests, because Gislason wants to know everything about all his players. He acts the same when it is about a match analyse, he wants to know everything, he "picks" it to pieces. Nothing escapes him."
- Do you think that the Zebras are in good hands?
"I am more than sure. Together with Noka he is one of the greatest coaches in the world, there is no doubt about it. I am convinced that with him as a coach, Kiel will remain on top. They will realise great performances together."
- Do you have an advice for Nikola and his co-players?
"Well, there is a thing that you better don´t trust Alfred: playing football with the team. He gives everything and he never asks himself questions. You better keep the distance from him. "
